Why a family?
God loves all his children and he is mindful of every one of
them in their distinct needs. Our heavenly father has created a plan for us to
experience love in our lives, the first love a human being can experience is
the love of family, the same kind of love our father who dwells in heaven has
for us.
The way that our heavenly father has created for us to be
happy has love at the center of it, this love can help us achieve the plan of
happiness that God has prepared for us. When God commanded Adan and eve to have
children, he did it for us (everyone on this earth) so that we can experience
the opportunity of having a family, and so that we can experience some of the
love that our heavenly father has for us, so that we give that same love to
children, siblings and every other person leaving close to us.
Have you ever thought about how life would be without your
family? Without having the experience of love and being loved, throughout this
life? I have thought of it and it is indeed really hard just to think about the
fact of not having somebody around me to support me when I need to. That is
exactly why the plan that God has created for us is also called the plan of
happiness because it involves families as the central part of it, and that’s
why experience happiness only through this true love.
“The first step is to comprehend the doctrinal foundation
for marriage. The Lord declared that marriage is the legal wedding of one man
and one woman: “Marriage is ordained of God unto man.
This week I was studying and learning a lot concerning the
relations between the members of the family. I studied several theories of a
successful marriage, a theory is an attempt to explain a phenomenon, and yes,
we could say that a successful marriage is phenomenal nowadays. Some of these
theories are called the exchange theory (giving the same we receive in a relationship), and conflict theory (conflicts in order to express each party in a relationship),
and I will like to expand my feelings on this theory called family system theory.
“Wherefore, it is lawful that he should have one wife, and
they twain shall be one flesh, and all this that the earth might answer the end
of its creation.” This quote from President Nelson talks about the importance
of marriage in the plan of happiness, being legally married has always been
God’s will unto men. Of course, love has to be the center of that marriage, to
me “they twain shall be one flesh” means a lot, I relate that phrase to the
word “share.” When a couple decides to get married, they decide to share
everything they possess with their spouses, they share goals, they share
beliefs, they share love, and only if they do so the Lord will rule in that
marriage. When the Lord rules over that marriage is when success comes, it is
never meant to be easy but it will be him the one who will save the marriage
when it is dangerous.
If one of your fears is to get married because of the
failure fear then you are a reasonable person, but if you put the lord at the
head of your marriage you are a smart person, and I am sure the Lord will make
that marriage work even if it is hard.
Yesterday my mom also told me that every day is challenging
to hold up a home and a family, because it seems like the world itself is
against every good principle of union between families, but she also told me that
when things are done in the correct order, God is there to help families be
successful.
